Ruslan is the Senior Country Economist for Papua New Guinea, effective July 1, 2021. Ruslan, a Ukrainian national, was previously a Senior Economist in the Latin America and Caribbean region, as country economist for Paraguay and contributing to lending and analytical tasks in the Caribbean. Prior to that, Ruslan was the Senior Economist for Moldova in the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region, based in Chisinau. Previously, Ruslan was the country economist for Ukraine. Before joining the Bank, he worked at a Ukrainian think-tank and at a technical assistance project. Ruslan has an MA in economics from the EERC program (now Kyiv School of Economics) of The National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy.
Piontkivsky received an MA in Economics from the Economic Education and Research Consortium program (Kyiv School of Economics) in the National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy in 1999.
