Ria Ghosh is a financial officer at the World Bank Treasury in the Asset Liability Management and Policy Team. She handles the risk management products for all IBRD and IDA borrowers including local currency and commodity hedging. She is also responsible for IBRD’s Equity Management Framework and execution of all derivative transactions related to the balance sheet of IBRD, IDA and IFFIm. Some key active projects also include IFC-IDA Private Sector Window, LIBOR transition and contribution to framing of bank policies.
Ria has almost a decade of experience in global markets, straddling both public and private sectors. Before joining the World bank, she worked with Nomura Asia (Fixed Income sales and structuring) specializing in hedging and investment needs of Asian Clients. She also worked with Deutsche Bank London (Macro and ALM structuring) covering European Pension Funds and Insurance Companies.
Ria holds an MBA in Finance from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and B.Tech. in Electronics from National Institute of Technology, Warangal. She is also a certified Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
