Pilar Maisterra was appointed Operations Manager for Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru in July 2021. She is responsible for overseeing the preparation and implementation of the World Bank’s portfolio and managing the World Bank office in Peru. Between 2018 and 2021, Ms. Maisterra served as Manager of Strategy, Risk and Country Operations in the Operational Policy and Country Services Vice Presidency.
Previously, she held several high-level positions, including as Practice Manager of Strategy and Operations in the Water Global Practice and as Country Program Coordinator for the Middle East Department and for the West Africa Country Management Unit.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Maisterra worked as a Senior Economist in the International Development Association (IDA) Resource Mobilization Department and, prior to that, as an Economist in the Latin America and Caribbean Region. Ms. Maisterra is an American and Spanish national and holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
