Ms. Anos Casero, a Spanish National, joined the Bank in 2001 as a Young Professional. She has since held various technical and managerial positions in operations in several regions, her most recent assignment being as Adviser in the Trade & Competitiveness Global Practice.
Her experience spans low-income countries as small as Moldova and Sao Tome and Principe, and middle-income countries as large as Russia, Mexico, and Argentina. Paloma joined the World Bank Group in 2001 as Young Professional and has served in a variety of roles, including Sector Manager, Sector Leader, and Lead Economist. She led complex lending operations and technical assistance activities. She also published on a wide range of economic topics (spanning trade, growth, productivity, labor markets) and was primary author of high-profile World Bank Group flagship publications.
A citizen of Spain, Paloma holds Masters Degrees on Economics and Public Policy (specialization in Economics of Social Policy) from the London School of Economics (LSE, London); International Economics (specialization in Trade) from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB, Brussels); and Macroeconomics and Finance from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE, Madrid). She speaks English, Portuguese, French, Spanish, and Russian.
