Javier Suarez, a Spanish national, was designated Program Leader for the Equitable Growth, Finance and Institutions (EFI) Global Practice Group in Haiti in June 2019.
Javier joined the World Bank Group in 2002 as an economist in the Trade Department. He has since held several positions across EFI GPs in Africa, Latin America, Europe and Central Asia, his last assignment being Lead Economist in the Finance, Competitiveness & Innovation Global Practice in ECA. Prior to joining the Bank, Javier worked at the World Trade Organization.
Javier brings an extensive operational experience and technical skills across core EFI economic policy areas, including macro, trade, finance, and private sector development.
