Erwin De Nys


Erwin De Nys is a program leader for the Sustainable Development and Infrastructure Program at the World Bank, covering Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. He is based in Pretoria. 

Since joining the Bank in 2005, he has been involved in several investment projects and studies at the juncture of water resources management, agriculture and rural development, and climate change adaption in the South-Asia and the Latin America and Caribbean regions. He earned a PhD in Bioscience Engineering from KU Leuven University, and two master degrees in Water Resources Management (Institut des Régions Chaudes, Montpellier) and in Tropical Agricultural Development (KU Leuven University).
