Elena Georgieva-Andonovska is a Senior Public Sector Specialist at the World Bank office in the Lao PDR, leading support to public financial management reforms in country.

Previously, Elena was based in Washington D.C. and worked on public sector reforms in Africa (the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, and Botswana) and Europe and Central Asia (Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Azerbaijan). Prior to joining the World Bank, Elena worked at the European Commission, focusing on the accession process of the Western Balkans and Turkey. Before that, she worked at the European Parliament.

A Bulgarian national, Elena holds an M.A. in Governance and Development Policy (Centre Européen de Recherches Internationales and Stratgégiques, Brussels, Belgium), an M.A. in European Public Affairs from the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands, and an M.A. in East-European Studies form Free University in Berlin, Germany.
