Clara Ivanescu


Clara Ivanescu is a Geographer in the Global Operational Support Team (GOST) at the Data Analytics and Tools unit (DECAT) in the World Bank’s Development Data Group. Since joining the World Bank in 2015, Clara has been focusing on the creation of global public goods and on leveraging geospatial data, technologies, and insights to inform operations.

Previously, Clara worked at the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), where she focused on biomass potential analysis, and at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research (PIK), where she supported the REMIND model team in exploring regional scenarios on the optimal mix of investments in the economy and the energy sectors.

Clara has a M.Sc. in GIS from TU Berlin, Germany, where she also obtained the EIT Climate-KIC certificate and a B.Eng. in Geodesy and Land Surveying from TU Iasi, Romania.
