On September 29, the Russian ED’s Office hosted a webinar on the World Bank Procurement Process and Business Opportunities for Russian Energy Companies. It was jointly organized in collaboration with the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the World Bank OPCS Procurement team.
Thirty specialists from Russian energy companies attended the webinar.
The keynote presentation was prepared by Marghoob Bin Hussein, Senior Procurement Specialist of the World Bank. It provided the participants with information on the World Bank procurement rules and processes for the World Bank-funded projects in the energy sector.
The participants learned information on the key provisions of the World Bank procurement regulations and procedures and the new World Bank Procurement Framework introduced in 2016, including procedures for soliciting competitive bid, procurement planning processes, and the competent management of the entire procurement cycle.
