What is NONIE?

Nonie is a network of networks for impact evaluation comprised of the DAC Evaluation Network, The United Nations Evaluation Group (UNEG), the Evaluation Cooperation Group (ECG), and a fourth network drawn from the regional evaluation associations. Its purpose is to foster a program of impact evaluation activities based on a common understanding of the meaning of impact evaluation and approaches to conducting impact evaluation.

To this end a task team has been constituted and tasked with the following activities:

  1. Preparation of impact evaluation guidelines
  2. Agreeing collaborative arrangements for undertaking impact evaluation, leading to initiation of the program
  3. Developing a platform of resources to support impact evaluation by member organizations
Structure and Working Arrangements

Members of the Task Team are drawn from each of the three evaluation networks, and from developing country partner governments and regional evaluation networks. Each organization in each of the three networks may nominate a staff member to be a Task Team member. Developing country membership is by invitation.

Most Task Team activities is carried out by sub-groups, whose proposals are discussed by the whole Task Team and finalized following consultation with the networks and member governments, and in some cases the broader constituency including research bodies and NGOs from member- and developing partner countries.
