Using Data to Improve Development Outcomes in Sudan

The Evidence Base Program is Sudan’s first statistical capacity building and data literacy training program addressing the country’s need for targeted and pro-poor policies through strengthening the capacity of skilled statisticians and promoting better understanding and use of data.Funded by the UK Department for International Development (UKAid), the Program brings together a range of government and civil society stakeholders—including journalists and academe, working towards bridging important capacity gaps in how data is generated and understood to inform better decision-making in Sudan. The Evidence Base Program has also made available e-learning modules in Arabic and English, which are open to everyone.
