The World Bank Group (WBG) announced today that it would provide at least US$650 million to help Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone recover from the devastating social and economic impact of the Ebola crisis and advance their longer-term development needs. The announcement came during a summit of world leaders on Ebola during the WBG-IMF Spring Meetings in Washington, where the U.N. announced a high level panel to recommend safeguards to ensure multilateral response to future disasters.
