Shout-Out Against Poverty at Global Citizen Concert

Take It On! World leaders called on young people to unite against extreme poverty at the star-packed Global Citizen concert in Central Park on Sept. 27. As an estimated 60,000 people roared approval, World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim said prosperity promotes health and peace in even the most troubled corners of the world. This is the third year the Global Citizen festival has sought to galvanize young people by trading free tickets in return for spreading the word or volunteering to help end extreme poverty by 2030. This year, Jay-Z, fun and Sting shared the stage with Kim, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
