Ghana Projects & Programs
The Ghana portfolio comprises US$1.626 billion in 26 projects. The disbursed amount has been increasing since FY2009. US$386.2 million was disbursed in FY2011, the sixth largest of the International Development Association (IDA), and reached US$342.9 million in fiscal year 2012, a country record. Regional projects reflect Ghana’s role as a hub in West Africa, with a regional portfolio of eight projects of nearly US$752 million in transport, energy, trade facilitation and agriculture. An IDA guarantee helped the completion of the West Africa Gas Pipeline which connects Nigeria’s gas resources to Benin, Togo and Ghana, lowering energy production costs in Ghana.
