Zakout is currently the Country Manager for Yemen. Before joining the Yemen team, he was the Sector Manager for Urban, Water and Disaster Risk Management in the Sustainable Development Department at the Europe and Central Asia Region of the World Bank.
He has a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin Madison in civil and environmental engineering and an undergraduate degree from Bir Zeit University in the West Bank.
Zakout joined the World Bank in 1994 and held several positions in East Asia and Europe and Central Asia regions before taking up his current position.
