Fabian Mendez-Ramos is an economist in the Development Research Group at the World Bank Global Knowledge and Research Hub in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His research interests include: (1) understanding uncertainty of information and economic processes; (2) the study of patterns of development and structural change of economic sectors; and (3) identification of key determinants of poverty dynamics and economic growth. He is also interested in the modeling of economies using the framework of computable general equilibrium(CGE) models.
Fabian joined the World Bank in 2013 working at the Development Prospects Group where he contributed in two World Bank publications, the Global Monitoring Report (GMR) and the Global Economic Prospects (GEP). Prior to joining the World Bank, Fabian completed his PhD in applied economics at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
