Alexander Pankov is the Lead Specialist for the Finance and Markets global practice in Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, joining the position in October 2012 and based in Kyiv, Ukraine.
A Russian national, Mr. Pankov joined the Bank in 2000. He has since worked on the financial and private sector development agenda in a number of countries of Western Balkans, East Asia, and former Soviet Union. In particular, Mr. Pankov managed the World Bank’s policy dialogue with the authorities, investment projects, and technical assistance programs dealing with banking sector restructuring, crisis preparedness framework, access to finance, and enterprise sector reform.
Mr. Pankov holds a Master’s Degree in International Economic Affairs, The George Washington University, and a B.A. in Economics from Lawrence University, both in the US.
