G7 leaders took a major step toward protecting the world against pandemics by supporting the launch of the Pandemic Emergency Financing Facility (PEF).



There are over a billion smokers in the world. According to the World Health Organizatoin, tobacco use kills 6 million people a year - one person every six seconds. Over the past 15 years, smoking rates have fallen in most countries, but in 27 countries they've gone up.
