Albania: Quenching the Thirst of Coastal Durres

Durrës is Albania’s second largest city, its largest port, and its most important trading hub. Rapid, unplanned urbanization has created a number of problems with the outdated 40-year old water supply and sanitation network. The World Bank and the Government of Albania are investing in a new network to improve services for the city’s citizens and tourists.
