September 15-October 25, 2021

Maldives

Rich marine life. A successful tourism industry. Fisheries. Mobile phones, laptops and growing internet connectivity.

Also: pollution that threatens our oceans. A geography that makes it harder to build schools, hospitals and provide electricity that people need.

All of these elements make up the Maldives we see now. What Maldives do you want to see in the future?

The World Bank is preparing its next country engagement strategy for the Maldives. Along with ongoing in-country consultations, the Bank is inviting young Maldivians to share their views through art.

As a young Maldivian, how do you see the future of the Maldives in the next decade? What are your dreams for your country? How will digital technologies and the blue economy play a role in shaping a country that can nurture your dreams, and the dreams of future generations?

It’s time to get inspired and create original art that captures your dreams for the Maldives’ future!
