In Jamaica, opportunity is about… generating entrepreneurship and creating jobs

Thirty years ago, the food processing company Carita Jamaica employed only two people. One of them was Rita Hilton, who is now the CEO and supervises over 30 workers, most of them from the vulnerable economic surrounding areas. For Rita, the mentorship and technical support she received in marketing and finance given under Women Innovators Network in the Caribbean project and the financial support provided under the Foundation for Competitiveness and Growth Project (funded by the World Bank and the Development Bank of Jamaica/DBJ) helped place this small business on the road to success. This video shows how the initiatives are helping many Jamaicans escape from poverty.
