Georgia Wallen


Georgia Wallen is Acting Country Manager for the World Bank in Thailand. As Senior Country Officer for the Thailand, Brunei, Malaysia and Philippines country unit, she also focuses on country strategy, World Bank corporate priorities and client engagement across the four countries. Prior to joining the East Asia and Pacific Region of the World Bank in 2015, she worked with Development Finance in the World Bank with focus on resource mobilization for the International Development Association (IDA).  She was part of the core team responsible for raising US$51.9 billion for the IDA17 Replenishment and was the principal author of the IDA15 Retrospective Review, which assessed the impact of IDA’s policy performance, program delivery and results over a three-year period.

Her career in international development includes over six years with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where she consulted as country program coordination for Suriname and the Caribbean region. She has experience in development evaluation with the World Bank and the Internal Oversight Service (IOS) of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).  She has a Master in Public Policy degree from the Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Columbia University.
