TDLC was invited to participate in a training program in Japan as part of JICA's ODA project to update the Urban Development Master Plan for the Aqaba Special Economic Zone (ASEZ) in Jordan. TDLC Operations Officer, Ms. Miki, introduced the TDLC program and the case studies that have been conducted in the cities of Yokohama and Kobe in the past on the first day of the training program on 24 August.
The program is designed for government officials from organizations promoting urban development in ASEZ to visit and learn from good practices in Japanese cities and local governments, focusing on four themes (smart cities, urban planning, transportation and logistics, and industry and tourism), as well as to learn about the initiatives made by governments in Japan. The objective of the program is to enhance the participants' understanding and ability of "urban management" and to organize actions that should be taken to solve urban issues.
