Pathways to Carbon Neutrality in China

The World Bank Group, along with the PBC School of Finance at Tsinghua University (PBCSF) and the London School of Economics (LSE), jointly organized an International Webinar on December 12, 2022 on “Pathways to Carbon Neutrality in China”. Discussion focused on insights and recommendations on how China can achieve carbon neutrality, based on the Bank Group’s recent China Country Climate and Development Report as well as recent research by Tsinghua and LSE. Leading experts from around the world participated in the discussion, including Joseph Stiglitz, Nobel laureate and Professor at Columbia University; Nicholas Stern, Chair of the Grantham Research Institute at LSE; Zhu Min, Chair of PBCSF and former Deputy Managing Director of the IMF; Manuela V. Ferro, Vice President for East Asia and Pacific at the World Bank; Liu Shijin, Deputy Director Economic Committee of the National Committee of the CPPCC; and Cameron Hepburn, Director of the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at Oxford University.
