The World Bank announced today a private placement offering in Switzerland of SwF 100 million (about US$67.2 million equivalent). The 8-year notes carry a 7-1/8 percent coupon and were priced at 100-5 / 8 percent, for a contractual yield of 6.90 percent on a semi-annual equivalent basis. The notes will mature on March 6, 1998.
The underwriting group, lead-managed jointly by J.P. Morgan Switzerland and Bank Leu Ltd., consists of Swiss banks and a group of foreign banks based in Switzerland.
