Vladimir Tamozhnikov is the Alternate Executive Director representing the Russian Federation at the World Bank Group (WBG) since March 2020.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Tamozhnikov served at the Central Bank of the Russian Federation as a Director of Financial Markets & Strategy Department, being responsible for Russian financial market regulation and development and overseeing a large team of decentralized workforce. Vladimir also has a prior experience working with the WBG as an Advisor to Executive Director.
Mr. Tamozhnikov has a diverse background, having an expertise in economics, finance, international relations, financial markets regulation, fintech, competition development, leadership and people management.
Mr. Tamozhnikov studied Economics at the Lomonosov Moscow State University, getting bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as PhD in Economics there. His thesis was focused on the Russian foreign reserve assets portfolio management improvements. Vladimir has also a Charter of Financial Analysis (CFA) designation and is a regular member of CFA institute.
