Adrián Fernández, an Uruguay national, is an Executive Director at the World Bank Group (WBG) representing the constituency of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Perú and Uruguay since November 1st, 2018. Mr. Fernández also served at the Executive Director's Office as Senior Advisor and Advisor to the Executive Director.
Prior to joining the WBG, Mr. Fernández held the position of Director of the National Institute of Statistics in Montevideo, Uruguay for five years. From 1997 to 2008, he worked as researcher at the Centro de Investigaciones Económicas (CINVE) in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Mr. Fernández earned BA in Economics at the Universidad de la República, in Montevideo and has held a position of econometrics professor since 1980 at this University.
