How to Order

The InfoShop manages the Development Gateway Bookstore at http://www.worldbankinfoshop.org/ecommerce/. It is your one-stop shop for publications on development issues from a range of publishers worldwide. You can search and purchase quality development literature and reference material in print and electronic format. The Bookstore includes materials from think tanks, NGOs, academic institutions, international organizations and others.

Project-related documents, souvenirs, etc... can also be ordered from the InfoShop in Washington, D.C. by phone (202-458-4500), fax (202-522-1500), or e-mail (infoshop@worldbank.org). We are committed to providing fast and reliable processing of your order. In order to achieve this goal, we begin processing your order within hours of receiving it. Please clearly indicate the titles of the requested documents. When possible, please use the report number, stock number, ISBN and the country/title. World Bank publications can also be ordered directly using the online bookstore. Based on your geographical location, you can also place your order for project-related documents from PIC Europe or PIC Tokyo.

Payment Information

Project-related documents are available at a charge of US $20.00 equivalent per single-volume report. For reports with multiple volumes, each additional volume is sold at US $10.00. Customers located outside the U.S. are encouraged to use credit cards to avoid the high costs of bank transfers. Please do not send cash through the mail. Profoma invoices are provided on request. ALL ORDERS MUST BE PREPAID.

Credit Cards:
The InfoShop accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Diner's Club. Credit card orders must include the type of credit card, name as it appears on the card, card number, expiration date, and mailing address.

Checks/Money Orders:
All checks and money orders must be made payable to the "World Bank InfoShop" in US dollars drawn on a U.S. bank. Do not forget to include a specific reference to the document(s) you are ordering or the proforma Invoice number along with the check.

Discounts · Project-related Documents

  • A 30% discount is available to all NGO's upon presentation of accreditation.
  • A 20% discount is available to full-time students and faculty upon presentation of a student or university ID.
  • Project-related documents on the user's country may be obtained free of charge from the Bank's country offices in that country or, from the InfoShop in Washington D.C. Users are requested to provide proof of citizenship.

Return Policy

You may return any of the following items listed below, along with the originalreceipt, for a full refund within 30 days:

  • any book in its original condition, any unopened media (CD ROMs and Videos)
  • merchandise that's in new condition including original packaging and accessories

Please Note: Sale of project-related documents are final. No returns accepted.

Shipping and Handling Charges
Project-related documents:

Regular Mail:
  • The cost of regular mail within the U.S. is US $5.00 for the first book and US $1.00 for each additional book.
  • Cost of mailing outside the U.S is US $11.00 for the first book and US $4.00 for each additional book

Courier Mail:
  • Delivery within the U.S. is 12.00 for the first book and $2.00 for each additional book.
  • Delivery outside the U.S. is $21.00 for the first book and $6.00 for each additional book.

NOTE: For courier requests, if you place your order before 4:00pm U.S. eastern time, Monday through Friday, we will ship all items which are available immediately the same day. Courier requests placed after 4:00pm U.S. eastern time will be processed the following business day. Courier service used for delivery within the U.S. is Federal Express. Courier service used for delivery outside the U.S. is TNT, Inc. Customers outside the U.S. are strongly encouraged to use courier service as deliveries by overseas air mail may experience significant delays.

Estimated Delivery Time
To calculate the number of days it will take to receive your order, depends on the shipping method you select. Estimated delivery time = Order Processing Time + Shipping Time.
