Central America moves forward in the recognition of food and beverage sanitary registrations

The Central American market has grown in recent years and today exports within the region are near to USD9 billion annually. However, Central America has many challenges ahead. One of them is the long and complex process to register a food in each of the countries in the region. To address this problem, the World Bank Group, with support of USAID and SIECA, created a platform for health records that are recognized throughout the isthmus, without the need for individual procedures in each country. The new system significantly reduces the number of days required for this procedure and costs are up to 25% lower.
