Kenya Projects & Programs
The World Bank’s portfolio in Kenya consists of 24 active national and eight regional operations with a total commitment of US$4.2billion. The projects are mainly focused on transport, energy, water, urban, health and social protection. In fiscal year 2013, the Bank has approved more than US$900 million for urban transport, the Ethiopia-Kenya power interconnector, infrastructure finance and judicial performance improvement. The Bank has also leveraged nearly US$400 million in private investments through partial risk guarantees for private independent thermal and geothermal power projects to improve Kenya’s electricity supply.
