Siaka Bakayoko is the World Bank Group Country Manager for Niger. An Ivorian national, Mr. Bakayoko joined the World Bank in 1988 as a financial analyst working in the agricultural sector in the Côte d’Ivoire country office. He has since held various positions including the position of country manager in Conakry, Guinea. Prior to arriving in Niamey, he was the lead financial management specialist in the Governance Global Practice.
As the World Bank Group Country Manager for Niger, Mr. Bakayoko handles the relationship between the government and the World Bank, and conducts day-to-day dialogue with members of the government, civil society, and the donor community. He is responsible for developing the country strategy and oversees the implementation of World Bank projects in Niger.
A graduate from the University of Abidjan in applied economics and management, Siaka Bakayoko holds a MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
