WASHINGTON, February 2 – Today, World Bank Group President David Malpass met with United Kingdom Minister of State (Development and Africa) Andrew Mitchell.
President Malpass and Minister Mitchell discussed recent reversals in development and the international response to global public goods. President Malpass updated Minister Mitchell on the World Bank Group’s Evolution Roadmap. President Malpass and Minister Mitchell also discussed private sector capital flows to support development efforts, including working with B.I.I.
President Malpass updated Minister Mitchell on the World Bank’s continued assistance for the people of Ukraine, and expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom for its strong partnership on this agenda.
They also discussed the growing number of developing countries in debt distress, and the need for broader participation in debt transparency and sustainability initiatives.
