World Bank Announces Euroyen 10 Million Issue

The World Bank today announced an issue of 5-year notes in the aggregate principal amount of Yen 10 billion ($70.5 million equivalent) in the Euroyen market. Interest on the notes will be paid in Australian dollars on an Australian dollar notional amount of A$92.2 million, at an interest rate of 7.51 percent on a semi-annual equivalent basis for the first and second coupon payments (to be paid semiannually) and an interest rate of 7.65 percent payable annually thereafter. The issue price is 101.5. Principal on the notes will be redeemed in yen on December 5, 1994. The notes will be listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.

The issue has been lead-managed for the World Bank by LTCB International Limited. The proceeds of this borrowing were swapped entirely into floating rate US$.
