World Bank Borrowing in the Netherlands

A Guilder Bond Issue of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development will be offered for public subscription in the Netherlands on October 5, 1983 by a syndicate of Dutch and foreign banks, managed by Algemene Bank Nederland N.V. The Bank will offer £. 300 million (US$ 100.6 million equivalent) of 8-3/4% ten year Bonds at a price of 100%. This would result in a yield to investors of 8.57% on a semi-annual basis equivalent.

The new issue of 8-3/4% Dutch Guilder Bonds of 1983, due 1989/1993 will be dated November 15, 1983 and will have a final maturity of 10 years. The issue will be repayable at par in 5 annual installments of £. 60 million each. The Bonds to be prepaid will be drawn by lot. Application will be made to list the Bonds on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

This will be the twelfth public offering of World Bank Bonds in the Netherlands, Following the full repayment of four issues, the principal amount of the World Bank's eight outstanding public issues, including the current issue, totals £. 1,416 million.
