  • The World Bank Women, Business and the Law, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Gender Equality of Equatorial Guinea and the Organization Mujer Ideal, organized a Capacity Building Workshop on the Impact of Laws on Women’s Economic Empowerment on November 12-13 in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

    The objective of the workshop was to build capacity of civil society organizations and facilitate knowledge exchange on the impact of laws on women’s economic empowerment and how the legal and regulatory environment affects women’s economic opportunities.

    The workshop provided participants with data, evidence and best practices building on regional and global experiences that can be used to promote women's rights and gender equal policy-making.

    The workshop brought together approximately 50 representatives from civil society, government and the private sector focusing on women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship.
