Public Consultation on the Myanmar Disaster Risk Management Project

The Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC) is working with the World Bank on the Myanmar Disaster Risk Management (DRM) project that includes improvements to urban drainage and retrofitting to public buildings in six townships of the Yangon Central Business District (CBD). To identify, manage and mitigate potential impacts from these works, the YCDC has prepared two safeguard documents:

  1. Environmental and Social Management Framework
  2. Resettlement Policy Framework

These documents provide guidance for the implementation of the project.

 

Objectives of the Public Consultation:

Present overview of the public consultation meeting

Present overview of activities during the site visit in the CBD

Review, discuss and obtain comments on the:

a. Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF)

b. Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF)
