Miguel Eduardo Sánchez Martín


Miguel Eduardo Sánchez Martín is the World Bank Program Leader for Equitable Growth, Finance, and Institutions in the South Caucasus. He leads the economic policy dialogue, the preparation of flagship reports, and the delivery of budget support operations.

Since joining the World Bank in 2010, Miguel has worked in Latin America, South-East Asia, Africa, and Europe and Central Asia on issues including growth and diversification, foreign direct investment attraction, fiscal policy and redistribution, and tax expenditures. Miguel has published on these topics both with the Bank and external peer-reviewed journals. Miguel has also developed extensive experience supporting policy and reforms during more than ten years of work in the field.

Before joining the World Bank, Miguel worked for the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade in Madrid and Ankara. He holds a M.Sc. in Political Economy of Development from the University of London, SOAS, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
