Galina Sotirova


Galina Sotirova assumed duties as World Bank Country Manager for Jamaica, effective July 1, 2015.

Ms. Sotirova, a Bulgarian national, joined the Bank in 1994 as a Human Development Specialist for Europe and Central Asia. Since then, she has held various positions in several regions of the Bank with her most recent assignments being Country Manager for Burkina Faso and Country Operations Advisor for the Caribbean; and has a good knowledge of Jamaica’s challenges and opportunities.

She holds a graduate degree in International Relations, Economics, and Public Policy from the University of Sofia, John Hopkins University SAIS, and the London School of Economics.
