WASHINGTON, May 9 - Today, World Bank Group President David Malpass met with Prime Minister Kiril Petkov of Bulgaria.
President Malpass and Prime Minister Petkov discussed the impact of the war in Ukraine on Bulgaria, and commended the Government and people of Bulgaria on their support to Ukrainian refugees.
President Malpass and Prime Minister Petkov discussed the Bulgarian energy sector, as well as Bulgaria’s energy transition efforts and the importance of sector diversification.
President Malpass reaffirmed the World Bank Group’s commitment to a strong partnership with Bulgaria and thanked Prime Minister Petkov for Bulgaria’s interest in furthering collaborative efforts with the WBG to support lagging regions.
