World Bank Announces Public Issue of Austrian Schilling 1 Billion Bonds

The World Bank has launched an Austrian schilling 1 billion (about US$ 84.7 million) issue of 10-year bonds lead-managed by Creditanstalt-Bankverein, Vienna.

The bonds carry an 8-7/8 percent coupon and are priced at 101.70 for a yield of 8.44 percent on a semi-annual coupon equivalent basis. The bonds which will be repaid at par on June 8, 2000 and are non-callable, will be listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange.

The proceeds of the issue will be used in the general operations of the World Bank.
