World Bank Places $200 Million 2-Year Bond Issue

The World Bank announced the placement of a $200,000,000 issue of U.S. dollar bonds maturing March 15, 1973 in markets outside the United States. The bonds were purchased by central banks and other governmental institutions of 67 different countries and by one international organization. The sale of these bonds will increase the amount of World Bank two-year dollar bonds held by these and other similar purchasers to $724,500,000.

The new World Bank bonds, known as "Two Year Bonds of 1971, due March 15, 1973", bear interest at 5.20% per annum, payable semi-annually. The issue was sold at par.

The new bonds will be delivered March 15, 1971. A $192,650,000 bond issue placed outside the United States with similar purchasers in March 1969 will mature on March 15, 1971.
