PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The additional financing will benefit some 180,000 rural poor people in the state of Piauí through the implementation of approximately 1,200 small-scale basic socio-economic infrastructure and productive subprojects. The projects are targeted to improve well-being and incomes of the rural poor; increase social capital of rural communities and their capacity to organize collectively; enhance local governance; and foster closer integration of development policies, programs and projects in rural areas.
