How to Build Strong PPP Institutions in Developing Countries: The role of PPP contract management

April 30, 2024
Virtual
Webinar on April 30 focusing on building strong PPP institutions in developing countries

The World Bank's Infrastructure Finance, PPPs & Guarantees (IPG) Group, through the Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF), completed a comprehensive global review to better understand the drivers of success in public-private partnership (PPP) programs and to gather insights from both the World Bank Group's own experiences and other global institutions. This initiative aimed to improve the support provided to client countries. Based on the findings from this analysis, we developed a series of Practice Notes that encapsulate valuable findings and lessons in five key areas: capacity building, legal and institutional frameworks, pipeline development and project preparation, funding and financing, and contract management.

Two webinars have already been held, focusing on (i) capacity building and funding & financing and (ii) the role of legal framework and The World Bank's global knowledge product "Guidance on PPP Legal Frameworks." The upcoming third webinar will discuss:
