We are surrounded by women who inspire us on a daily basis. This is your chance to celebrate these women and get to win exciting prizes.

Participate in the #ProsperBangladesh Essay Contest on ‘Who is the most inspiring woman in your life, and why?’ and send us your entries by email or via facebook.

    1. The Contest is open to all Bangladeshi nationals or those residing in Bangladesh.
    2. Individuals are limited to one submission each. 
    3. Active staff of the World Bank Group, including Consultants, Interns, Contractors and their employees, are not eligible to participate in the Contest. However, family members and relatives of World Bank Group staff are eligible to participate. 

    1. Topic of the Essay: Write an essay on “Who is the most inspiring woman in your life, and why?” 
    2. The essay must be between 100-200 words.
    3. The essay must be written in English or Bangla. 
    4. The participant’s name, age, and email address and mobile number should be clearly mentioned in the submission.
    5. Essays should NOT be accompanied by a photograph.
    6. Submissions will be judged based on the following Criteria: (1) Clarity, scope and relevance of the topic; (2) Creativity; (3) and overall quality of the essay.
    7. All essays must be submitted through www.facebook.com/worldbankbangladesh or through email: bangladeshinfo@worldbank.org with the subject line “#ProsperBangladesh Essay Contest.” 
    8. The last date of submission is on April 10, 2018.
    9. The entrant will have all ownership rights to the essay. The World Bank will have non-exclusive, royalty free and worldwide rights to share the essay through its various channels for a 3-year duration. 
    10. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification from the Contest. 
    1. The winners and the winning essays of the #ProsperBangladesh Essay Contest will be featured at the World Bank website, and World Bank social media channels including its “End Poverty in South Asia” blog portal and Facebook page
    2. The top 5 winners will receive prizes and certificates.
    3. A visit to the World Bank office for the prize giving ceremony will be arranged.
  • 1. The judging panel will comprise of 5 members, including external experts and World Bank staff. 
    2. Family members of judges are not eligible to participate.
    3. The essays will be collated by the panel before making a shortlist of 20. 
    4. The 20 shortlisted essays will then be judged by the entire panel for creativity and overall quality.
    5. The top 5 winners will be notified and prize winners will be announced through the World Bank website and social media channels.

  • These Rules and Regulations (“Rules”) for the #ProsperBangladesh Essay Contest 2018 (the “Contest”) are part of the Terms and Conditions of Use & Privacy Policy (the “Terms and Conditions") that govern the websites where information about the #ProsperBangladesh Essay 2018 Contest is located. The Contest is administered by the World Bank in Bangladesh.

    By entering, you agree that the entries you submit may be used in printed publications, on World Bank social media, websites, or in any other media, and may be copied and displayed in any country provided that you are afforded appropriate attribution.

    The World Bank assumes that the writer would have secured all permissions needed; no liability shall accrue to the World Bank on this account.
