Tungalag Chuluun

Tungalag (Tungaa) Chuluun is Senior Social Protection Specialist in the Bank’s Ulaanbaatar country office. Since joining the World Bank in 2009, she has been working in the technical task teams supporting the implementation of the Bank-financed projects in education, health and social protection sectors. Since 2013, Tungaa has started to focus more on social protection and employment matters.

During the past years, she served as the task team leader (TTL) to support the implementation of the “Improving primary education outcomes for the most vulnerable, rural children” project (2012-2017) and the social protection components of “Multisector technical assistance project” (2010-2016) supporting the government reforms in social welfare and pensions.    

Currently she serves as the TTL and co-TTL for social protection component of the “Strengthening Fiscal and Financial Stability Project-3” (2017-2021) and “Mongolia Employment Support project” (2017-2021).

Prior joining the Bank, Tungaa had worked as Deputy Director and County Director for Save the Children, UK in Mongolia and had extensive consulting experience on education and social protection issues.  She holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania (2011).
