John is the Lead Financial Officer for the World Bank Treasury’s Financial Advisory and Banking department covering clients in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, East Asia, and Africa.
During his twenty-two year career at the World Bank, John has worked with governments across the world, providing them with customized financial solutions and advisory services to help them manage financial risks. John has been twice recipient of a World Bank Award for Excellence (1998 and 2004) for his work with clients. Earlier in his career, John also served as Special Assistant to World Bank President James D. Wolfensohn (2001-2004). Prior to the Bank, John worked in investment banking in London and consulting in New York.
An American and Greek national, John studied law and business administration before pursuing an international career in finance. He holds an MBA degree from Columbia University in New York, and an LLB degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece.
