Gerard Antioch, an Australian national, is the World Bank Group Alternate Executive Director representing Australia, Cambodia, Kiribati, Republic of Korea, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Mongolia, Nauru, New Zealand, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu since November 2018.
Before joining the WBG, Mr. Antioch served as Chief of Staff, Office of the Minister for Revenue and Financial Services; Minister for Women; Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Public Service, Parliament House. Prior to this, Mr. Antioch held various high-level positions in the Australian government mostly at The Treasury including General Manager, the Tax Framework Division; General Manager, Foreign Investment and Trade Policy Division; Principal Adviser, Tax White Paper Task Force and Federation White Paper Task Force; Principal Adviser, Strategic Communications Division; and Secretary, Board of Taxation.
Mr. Antioch also served as Minister-Counsellor (Economic) Australian Permanent Delegation to the OECD; and Vice-chairman, OECD’s Economic and Development Review Committee, Paris, France; Executive Member, Foreign Investment Review Board, Canberra; and Australian National Contact Point, OECD’s Multinational Enterprise Guidelines, Canberra.
Mr. Antioch holds a Master’ s degree in Economics, Australian National University, Canberra, Australia.
