Mr. Florin Vodita, a Romanian national, is the World Bank Group Alternate Executive Director representing the constituency of Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Georgia, Israel, Moldova, Montenegro, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Romania, and Ukraine in the Board.
Mr. Vodita started his World Bank Group career as an Advisor to the Executive Director in January, 2018. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Mr. Vodita served as an Ambassador of Romania to the Slovak Republic from 2009 - 2014. Previously, from 2002- 2007, he was appointed Consul General of Romania to Bonn, Germany.
Mr. Vodita also held numerous other high-level positions in the Government of Romania, including Secretary of State to the Prime Minister for Foreign Policy, OECD National Coordinator and Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade and Defense Industry at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Tourism, to name a few.
Mr. Vodita holds a PhD in National Security and Public Order, “Romania's Accession to Schengen” from A. I. Cuza Police Academy of Bucharest, Romania.
