Elsa Agustin


Elsa Agustin, a Philippines national, is the Alternate Executive Director at the World Bank Group representing Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Philippines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago since January 2019.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Agustin served at the Philippines government as an Economist since 1991, and as a Researcher from 1984 to 1991.

In 2015, Ms. Agustin served as Director of the Fiscal Policy and Planning Office at the Department of Finance in Manila, Philippines.

In 2011, Ms. Agustin was seconded to the IMF by the Philippines government to work as an Economist at the Asia and Pacific Department.

Ms. Agustin earned a MA Economics, School of Economics, University of the Philippines in 1997 and BA in Business Administration with Major in Economics, University of the East, Philippines in 1981.
