Elene Imnadze is the World Bank Resident Representative for The Gambia since September 1, 2017. Before her appointment to The Gambia, she served as the World Bank Resident Representative for Botswana. 

A Georgian national, she joined the Bank in 1999 as a Projects Officer in European and Central Asia (ECA). She has held various positions at the Bank for 20 years, including senior public sector management specialist in ECA. During 2007-2009 she took a sabbatical to lead establishment of Free University, a new private university in Georgia. 

She holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Maxwell School of Syracuse University in the United States and master’s degree in Near Eastern Studies from Tbilisi State University in Georgia.
